Hospital in South Korea Launches Blockchain-Powered Medical Records Platform

Blockchain-based life data storage Longenesis and biotechnology firm Insilico Medicine will collaborate with medical center in South Korea in the development of blockchain-powered health data management solution.
The platform will be based in blockchain framework Exonum, created by Bitfury. This technology choice aims to improve data collection process, enhance medical research efficiency and guarantee transparent management of patient consent.
Longenesis will launch a reliable ecosystem for storing and managing private info of patients and providing them with control over their data. The solution will resolve questions of compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act as well to provide services to foreigners.
This is not the first case of implementing blockchain in medical records for South Korea. Seoul Medical Center also announced it would create a blockchain-based platform for improving its services.
